"Paprika": Are We Dreaming?

Recently, I watched the anime film, 'Paprika' directed by Satoshi Kon (rip), based on the novel written by Yasutaka Tsutsui (yes, I am nearly two decades late lol). It inspired thoughts about the power of the subconscious mind and how, in a way, we do share dreams. Not in the sentimental aspect, but in a way, we are influenced by the programming we receive through various forms, whether media or political climate. These dreams (or delusions of "reality") can intentionally and unintentionally influence how we perceive ourselves, others, and our experiences. This can go even deeper when we ask ourselves, what is true reality? We can absolutely lose ourselves or aspects of ourselves in these dream states. I think it is important to periodically challenge what we believe, especially when it makes something in you feel separate from yourself and/or others in a destructive way.
